Power Scriptures

Why would we not want to commit God's wonderful Word to memory, when quoting scriptures can defeat the devil and his demons in our daily lives?

The application of God's Sword can cause them to flee everyday. Jesus quoted The Word of God to Satan when he was harassed and challenged by that fallen angel and liar. During that attempt, the devil left Jesus alone, though temporarily, after three tries.

If you would like to memorize the living and powerful Word of God, but have problems with your memory, ask the Lord to help you.

God will honor your request because you are sincere. Find a scripture reference book, brochure or website and look up a scripture that speaks to your situation. If you seek out scriptures that really mean something to you, it will be easier to remember them. Here is a place to start:

Buy a couple of Bible reference books to help you identify helpful scriptures that speak to your life circumstances and your spirit. Here is a link to some at ThriftBooks:

Below are my favorite scriptures, the ones that give me power for living each day. Yes, I have memorized all of them and I continue to add new ones.

The wonderful thing about memorizing scriptures is that they do spring up and quote themselves at all of the most-needed and appropriate times.

The Word of God is alive! It is a sword in the battles of this life, and it endures forever!

Smiling thank you Lord

Artsy Craftery Design Studio said...

Remembering our knowledge of God has the potential to help us to smile in the most distressing of circumstances. Why? There is nothing that can separate us from God's love. He has given us a major promise, and he will fulfill it. I am able to smile often when I am distressed, sorrowful, depressed or discouraged. And if not smile, at least feel hopeful. I say "Thank you Lord for joy unspeakable, and the peace that surpasses all understanding. I know that the joy of the Lord is my strength, and you will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon you." I feel better immediately. What about the times when I don't feel like quoting those truths? That's another story, but one also filled with success. Nothing is too hard for God, no matter what it feels like or looks like. Thanks for visiting DNTH and God bless you abundantly!
